Commercial Energy Audits
BST provide a range of energy auditing services for all types of business and across a range of sectors. The audits are carried out in an independent manner and are designed to provide objective advice for energy reduction programs in their organisation.
Depending on the building and sector the audit may consist of the following steps, but can be tailored for each client:
- An assessment of the annual energy usage for the past three years.
- A detailed review of the utility billing information including electricity tariff analysis.
- Identification of significant energy aspects in the business including equipment and or processes.
- Install metering technology to monitor the main incoming electricity lines and sub processes to determine issues with base load, peak usage, low power factor etc.
- Thermal surveys of the building fabric to determine issues with heat loss and building defects.
- A detailed review of the heating, cooling and ventilations systems and their controls.
- An independent review of the lighting requirements and potential for savings.
- Identify potential energy wastage which may be corrected with staff training and awareness.
- Identify the potential for heat recovery within the building or processes.
- Carry out feasibility studies for the use of renewable energy technologies and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) solutions.
- Provide a detailed report identifying where energy can be saved with the cost benefit analysis for all recommendations made.
