Room Integrity Testing
With the arrival of cloud computing and the smart grid in the near future, the protection of data has never been more critical. Building Science Technologies provides room integrity testing services to data centre owners who use gas suppression systems to extinguish fires. If in an emergency the gas suppression system is called upon to discharge a fire, it is of critical importance that the concentration of the gas, and the length of time it is retained in the room, is correctly proportioned. In the past, full discharge tests would have to be carried out to determine the effectiveness of gaseous installations. This process was wasteful and harmful to the atmosphere. The test method was also imprecise, as discharge testing techniques did not pinpoint the precise location of enclosure leakages.
For insurance reasons and to comply with ISO 14520 a multi point door fan test should be carried out each year as means of determining the gas suppression retention time. Please contact Building Science Technologies for additional information and for a quotation for such work.
