Domestic BER

Since January 2007 all new dwellings must have a Building Energy Rating (BER) as part of the planning process. From January 2009 all homes sold or rented will have to have an energy rating. Building Science Technologies provide these energy ratings and include an advisory report on how to achieve a better rating. Building Air Tightness

From July 2008 it has become mandatory to carry out air pressure testing for new dwellings (residential and commercial). Building Science Technologies can provide air tightness testing to both residential and non residential buildings.

Infrared Thermal Imaging

Infrared Thermal imaging is a technology which allows an engineer to see defects in a building envelope which are not visible to the naked eye. These defects can compromise the performance of the overall building envelope in terms of energy retention, moisture levels, mould etc. All air tightness tests carried out by BST are done with a Thermal Imaging camera as standard. For existing homes there are many advantages to getting a thermographic survey done.
